| SC/ST population appalled over reservation to wards | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 15: Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes alongwith public in general from Nowshera and Sunderbani blocks have expressed strong reservations over certain wards being declared “reserved” for forthcoming assembly election.
According to a statement issued here today, a deputation of people belonging to these constituencies met M.L.A and a senior leader of National conference from Nowshera constituency Radhay Sham Sharma. They termed the decision as unjustified, haphazard, hurried and done without application of proper mind.
Sharma assured the deputationists that he has already taken up the issue with Minister Rural Development and even with the Deputy commissioner Rajouri for immediate issuance of rectifications enabling public in general and SCs/STs population in particular to actively participate in the ongoing Panchayat election process. |
