| DAY LIGHT ROBBERY IN BANTALAB SHOCK RESIDENTS | | |

Goods worth more than Rs 2 lakh were stolen from a private house of senior BSNL officer in Bharat Nagar near Bantalab on Barnai-Akhnoor road in a day light robbery on Thursday.
The robbery has shocked local residents in the area and they have demanded police patrolling during day time in the area to check entry of miscreants in the area.
Wife and two other relatives of owner of the house, Shadi Lal Raina posted as SDE in BSNL office in Srinagar were not present in the house at the time of the robbery.
According to family sources, Shadi Lal's wife had gone out of the house to meet her mother while Ashok Kumar and his wife ,two relatives who were staying in the same house were present in their offices.
According to preliminary investigations by police, the burglars broke upon the lock of the main gate before gaining their entry inside the house.
Senior police officials personally visited the spot and started investigations.
According to family sources, four gold bandles, three wrist watches, two gold chains, two silver idols and few silves coins besides Rs 70,000 in cash was found missing in the house in first inspection. |
