34th national games medal winners meet Vohra | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 15: Governor N.N.Vohra stressed upon the crucial importance of formulating a well considered action plan for promotion of sports activities by focusing on the games in which the youth of the State have a higher potential to win medals at the national and international levels. Governor was interacting with a group of sports persons of the State who called on him at Raj Bhavan here today. These young boys and girls had won 12 Medals for the sate at the 34th National Games which were recently held at Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R. S. Chib, who was present on the occasion, briefed the Governor about the over all sports scenario in J&K and the initiatives being taken for creating improved sports infrastructure in the State. Medal winners presented a memento and insignia of the 34thNational Games to the Governor on the occasion. Honorary General Secretary, J&K Olympic Association, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, dwelt on the activities of the Association and thanked Governor for blessing Medal winners. Principal Secretary to the Governor, R. K. Goyal, Director, Youth Services and Sports, J. P. Singh, Coaches of the Medal winners and sportspersons were present on the occasion.
