Watali visits Aishmuquam | | | EARLY TIMES Anantnag, April, 15: Deputy Inspector General of Police South Kashmir, Shafkat Ali Watali today visited shrine of Hazrat Zain-u- Din Wali (RA) Aishmuqam and took stock of the situation with regard to necessary security arrangements on the eve of Urs of the Sufi Saint . “On the directions of Honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, I have visited the shire to hear the genuine problems of the people, especially security arrangements,” said DIG South Kashmir, adding that the demands put-in by the people of Aishmuqam will be delivered to Chief Minister Omar Abdulla. People of the valley in general and Kashmir’s in particular visit the shrine with religious fervour and gaiety. Every year as per Christian calendar the Urs of Sufi Saint commences from 16th April. Zaina Singh embraced Islam and started propagating the religion in its true spirit and form , which influenced the people of his times, and became Zaina-U-Din ,while behaving in accordance with Sufi ways-which teaches religious tolerance and communal harmony, his influence gained wide popularity. Sufi saint, Zain-u-Din Wali (R.A) was among the close disciples of Sheikh Noor-u-din Noorani (R.A)— regarded as father of Sufiyat and a real social scientist, his famous hymn “Ann Poshie Telae Yalae Wann Poshie,” food will last as long as forests last; is having universal appeal, UNESCO has displayed this message at its headquarters as a part of environmental conservation. Several religious and social commentators ascribe that Zain-U- din Wali (R.A) pragmatically propounded the message of universal brotherhood and ecological balance. Presently, the shrine is looked after by Wakf Board of the state and is the famous religious and heritage tourist spot .
