7th GMT-20 Cricket Tourney from May | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 15: After conducting six national level championships, the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC), Doda would organize All India 7th Gufran Memorial Twenty-20 cricket championship in the end of May 2011 at Sports Stadium Doda. Young Star Cricket Club Doda held a meeting under the chairmanship patron YSCC Manzoor Ahmed Butt at Jammu and in the meeting decision of the incoming ill Gufran Memorial championship which is going to start in the end of May 2011 was taken in which 48 are allowed to participate including 15 teams from different states of India. He further said that the event will be played on knock out basis. He also informed that YSCC has start the team registration for this tourney and the last date for which is April 30. It is important to mention here that cricketers of international/IPL repute are likely to participate in the championship. Butt further said that Test, ODI and Ranji umpires of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would officiate in the matches. The YSCC Doda has appealed to the Chief Minister J&K to provide monitory as well as financial help for sponsorship of the championship for making it successful for the promotion of cricket in the hilly and backward area of the state. They also appealed President JKCA Dr. Farooq Abdullah to provide help to the club under the aegis of JKCA. However YSCC further made appealed to all private agencies to sponsor this championship for highlighting their products/company's name.
