Sahil shines in ACC’s emphatic win over Kathua

JAMMU, April 15: Skipper Sahil Singh Bhalwal was superb with both bat and ball in Aggarwal Cricket Club’s emphatic 29-run win over Kathua Cricket Club in the ongoing Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Cricket Tournament underway at MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, batting first, ACC piled up a good total of 143 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. Vishwajeet Singh remained top scorer with 32 runs including three delectable boundaries. Vimarsh Kaw made 30 off just 14 balls with five superb fours while Sahil Bhalwal hipped in with 24 runs, smashing five crispy boundaries.
Shashi picked two wickets for Kathua Cricket Club while Mithu, Somi and Mayank claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Kathua Club could not face the disciplined bowling of ACC, especially from Bhalwal brothers-Sahil and Akash, who created havoc in opponent’s camp. Sahil took four important wickets by giving away 21 runs in his quota of four overs while Akash bagged 3 for 17 runs in his 4 overs. Rahil Singh and Bandeep Singh took a wicket each. For Kathua, Happy Singh remained top scorer with 27 runs while Ricky, Shashi Chib and Himanshu contributed 27, 14 and 10 runs respectively.
For his superb all-round display Sahil Bhalwal was adjudged man of the match. The match was officiated by Madan Lal, Shashi Pal and Rajeev Pakhetra.
In another match, Bhagwati Cricket Club clinched a thrilling two run win over Bahu Fort Cricket Club to move into the third round. Bhagwati Club bundled-out for 91 runs in 16.1 overs with Vishal being top scorer with 32 while Nishant contributed 14 runs. Munir and Lara took three wickets each while Raju scalped two.
Bahu Fort, in reply, bundled-out for 189 runs, thus lost the match by two runs. Shammi scored 32 runs and Nasir 16 to the losing cause. Sarabjeet Saini, Rajesh Saini, Bhanu and Virender scalped two wickets each for the winners. Shammi was adjudged man of the match.
