Simula enters semis of Rajiv Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 16: Simula Cricket Club today found berth in the semi-finals after they defeated Adarsh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 23 runs in the ongoing Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here. Batting first, Simula set a target of 150 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, Adarsh Club could not chase and the whole side bundled out for 126 runs. Gulzar played a superb innings of 48 runs including six fours and one six. Hardeep Singh made valuable 37 runs contributions while Ram Dayal chipped in with 12-ball 20 runs. Sunny bowled true line and length to take away three wickets while Sanjeev took two and Manu one. Batting second, Adarsh Club lost all the wickets for 126 runs. Deepak remained top scorer with 29 runs while Ashok contributed 24 and Dilawar Singh 10 runs. Dhruv Mahajan and Gulzar bagged two wickets each while Hilal Rather and Vivek Thappa shared apiece each. Later, Gulzar was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant performance. This tournament is being organised by Young Star Cricket Club under the supervision of Vikram Singh, Rajesh Dhar, Chand Sharma and Shashi Pal.
