Wrestling body compliments Dushyant | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 16: The Indian Style Wrestling Association of Jammu and Kashmir today complimented the son of the soil and international wrestler, Dushyant Sharma for his election to the top post of the Wrestling Federation of India. General secretary of the state unit, Dushyant defeated Padam Shree and Asian medalist, Kartar Singh for the post of president in a straight contest that took place at national capital yesterday. While, DySP, Dushyant got 41 votes as against 31 in favour of Kartar Singh, who is Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Police. It will be a four-year tenure for this Jammu wrestler as president of the Federation. “What Dushyant has achieved is something rare in state sports. So, we are delighted back home and congratulate him (Dushyant) for the prestigious assignment,” president of the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma told SAN. He further said, “Dushyant election as president of the Federation at this young age would certainly give the Indian wrestling a new direction. We expect special attention from Dushyant for the promotion of indigenous game of wrestling back home in Jammu and Kashmir.”
