EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 16: Jammu boy, Abhishek Gupta has been selected in the Indian roll ball team for the forthcoming Ist Roll Ball World Cup started today at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune in Maharashtra. Abhishek is part of the 16-member team, including 12 players and four officials, taking part in the mega event under the banner of Roll Ball Federation of India. The Team: Chetan Bhandwalkar (captain), Prabhakar Vadwerao (vice-captain), Aditya Ganeshwade, Nikhil Oswal, Akhil Pillay, Anish Singh, Ajit Singh, Dikshit Palecha (goalkeeper), Abhishek Gupta, Harshit Sanghvi, Bharat Patil, Ramesh Singh (goalkeeper). Jyoti Prakash, chief de mission, Prof VD Patil, team manager, Shailendra Potnis, team coach, Sunil Dhage, assistant team coach, Ajay Trivedi, assistant team coach. Meanwhile, founder of the game and secretary, International Roll Ball Federation, Raju Dabhade, said, “The selected team is in very good shape being led by captain Chetan Bhandwalkar, who won the Asian Championship 2010 in Hong Kong last year. We conducted the first training camp in December last year and the second camp at Mahesh Vidyalay’s Laxminaryan Rathi Ground in Kothrud to build up a competent team.”
