Poll parties leave for 390 polling stations of Chenani block

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 16- With the dispatch of Polling staff to all the 390 polling stations, the stage is all set for the smooth conduct of Panchayat Election-2011 in block Chenani scheduled to take place on April 17, 2011 when voters would seal the fate of contesting candidates by exercising their right of franchise from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
According to Block Development Officer, Chenani there are 49 Panchayats in block Chenani with 69985 voters. He disclosed that poll parties along with required poll material were dispatched to their respective polling stations in 92 buses from Chenani and Jakhani panchayat this morning.
For the fair and smooth conduct of Panchayat Election, 17 Returning Officers, 32 Assistant Returning Officers, 390 Presiding Officers and 780 Polling Officers were appointed. To ensure better coordination, Chenani block has been divided in 8 zones and 17 sectors for which equal number of Zonal and Sectoral Magistrate has already been deployed.
