| 326 recruits join Border Security Force | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 16 : As many as 326 fresh recruits joined the Border Security Force at a passing out-cum-attestation parade function organised at Udhampur district of Jammu region, official spokesman said here today.
‘’Three hundred twenty six recruits joined the force after 36-week long rigorous training of weapon handling, map reading and counter insurgency operations at a passing out parade held at STC Centre Udhampur yesterday,’’ spokesman here said.
They said Inspector General BSF Jammu Frontier S Chattopadhaya was the chief guest on the occasion.
The IG in his address said, ‘’BSF is mainly deployed to guard the borders but in the present scenario they are also performing duties of concerning internal security of the region.’’ Mr Chattopadhaya added that the force had always performed better in counter insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir besides Assam and Naxal-hit areas.
