What happened to DSE appointed committee to regulate fee structure of private schools

JAMMU, April 16:
Few weeks ago, the Director of School Education (DSE) had called a meeting to decide the fee structure for the private educational institutes of Jammu, but nothing has been fixed so far.
In this meeting, it was decided that the private schools have to submit their fee structure in written after that the department will decide the guidelines and fee structure for the private schools, depending upon the infrastructure and other facilities provided to the students besides location of the school.
And Director School Education (DSE), Jammu Gulzar Qureshi had said in the meeting that a core committee of principals of reputed private schools has been constituted to study the issues of raised by the parents of the students and the said committee shall submit its report within a week time.
But still there is no outcome of the meeting neither the committee submit the report to streamline the fee structure of private education institutes.
Gulzar Qureshi said that the department has gave clear cut directions under SRO-123 to every private school to follow the guidelines being made by the education department.
He further said that the department is in process to work out in connection with the fee structure of the schools.
“As there are different schools having different infrastructure and other required facilities, and the department is not supposed to make the fee structure for every private school individually we instruct the schools to design the fee structure according to the norms of the education department” he added.
Qureshi maintained that if the parents have any grievance they can register a written complaint to the department and the department will take necessary action against the concerned private education institute, and if required the department will de-register the school.
