People’s participation vital for development of J&K: Bhalla | | | p Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 17: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has said People’s participation is vital for better development across the State adding that there is no constraint of funds in providing all basic amenities to the people in every corner of three regions of the State. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the people during his extensive tour to Chatha Pind, Chatha Mill, Bhour Camp, Bhour Kothey, Belicharana Doda migrant basti, Gangyal and assessed the development related requirements in the areas, here today. Bhalla said that government is fully aware of people’s hardships and is making all out efforts to mitigate on priority basis. He stressed upon the officers to bring in more accountability and transparency in timely utilization of funds available under various Central and State sponsored schemes for better infrastructural development of the State. Minister asked the officers to reach people and mitigate their hardships on priority basis, without any delay. He warned the officers against any laxity with regard to solving of problems of the people adding any complaint in this regard would invite strict action against the delinquent officers/officials. He said that coalition government is committed to connect every nook and corner of the State with nearest headquarter by ensuring better road connectivity. He said on the completion of steel girder bridge, the distance of lower Gadigarh, Karan Bagh, Bhour Kothey, Azad Nagar, Vikram Nagar and its adjoining areas would be reduced to a large extent. Listing the measures taken by the Government, the Minister said a Primary Health Centre costing Rs. 1.60 crore is nearing completion at Bhour Camp, adding that on the inauguration of the hospital, the rush in Gandhi Nagar as well as main hospitals of city would be reduced and people of the area will have an easy access to the healthcare facilities. He said that Government has approved Rs. 1.53 crore for construction of cremation ground at lower Gadigarh near Rohi Morh. Addressing the gathering, Bhalla asked the unemployed youth of the State to take full benefits of various development schemes like self-help groups, handicrafts, skill development and industries which have been mainly tailored to address unemployment problem. He said Central and State Governments have launched number of welfare schemes for up-lifting socio-economic condition of the unemployed youth of the State. He highlighted the role of private sector in boosting industrialization in the State adding that industrialization is the only solution for solving the challenging unemployment problem.
