| 2 killed, 7 hurt in road mishaps | | |
JAMMU, Apr 17: Two persons, including a woman, were killed and seven others wounded in separate road accidents here today.A Tata sumo collided head on with a bus near Chowki Choura in Akhnoor, resulting in the death of sumo driver Farooq Ahmad of Surankote and injuries to two passengers.The injured were hospitalised.A woman was killed after a tanker hit her when she was walking by the roadside at Nai Basti. She was identified as Shakuntla.
Another sumo (JK02AB/5259) skidded off the road on the national highway at Tikri in Udhampur as a result of which five persons sustained injuries.
Identified as Ravi Raj, Maharaj Krishan, Makhan Singh, Arti and Ravi Kumar, they were admitted to the GMC hospital.Police had registered cases in this connection.
