| Over woman's alleged murder by husband, family blocks Bishnah road | | | JAMMU, Apr 17: Alleging that their daughter was burnt to death by her husband as she was opposed to his extra-marital affair, angry family members today blocked the Bari Brahmana-Bishnah road, demanding a probe into the incident.
Seema Devi, wife of Sher Singh of Kotli Morh, Bishnah, was yesterday admitted to the GMC hospital with severe burns which she had received at her residence under mysterious circumstances.She, however, died in the hospital this morning. Alleging that she was set ablaze by her husband for opposing his extra-marital affair, the angry family members, while taking the body home, placed it in the middle of the Bari Brahmana-Bishnah road and blocked it to vehicular traffic. They also raised slogans against her husband, demanding his
immediate arrest followed by a thorough probe.They, however, dispersed peacefully and took the body home after an additional deputy commissioner visited the spot and assured them that justice would be done in the case. The road remained closed to traffic for over three hours.
Police sources said cops later rounded up Sher Singh for questioning.The Bishnah police had registered a case in this connection.
