Says CM, Soz principal offenders in ‘crime’

Early Times Report
Jammu, April 17: In a fresh twist to the LC cross voting scam, the chairman of National Panthers Party Prof Bhim Singh has declared that he shall move writ petition in the court for disqualification of 7 MLAs of BJP, who he said stand identified by their own leaders. A legal luminary, Bhim Singh has also indicated that he is also considering to move a petition against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Congress MP and J&K PCC chief Prof Saifu-Din Soz , contending both these leaders are the principal offenders in committing the crime of offering cash against vote .
In a statement, the NPP supremo, apparently in a bid to give legal connotations to the scam while lambasting both BJP as well as coalition said that by indulging in this ‘give and take’ scam these parties have betrayed people’s faith in Parliamentary democracy. Castigating BJP high command ‘modus operandi’ of reprimanding the J&K leadership, Prof Bhim Singh said none shall buy what he termed as ‘concocted’ story of BJP that the its MLAs in J&K Assembly were domestics of the State President and he should be shunted out for the offence committed by the BJP MLAs by voting against the Party whip while the Central Leadership led by BJP National( former ) President was in Jammu itself.

Bhim Singh further alleged that he leadership issued a verbal whip to the legislators to vote their candidate, Thakur Ranjit Singh whereas the secret whip was to vote for Omar Abdullah as the deal allegedly was sealed between Raj Nath Singh and the Chief Minster who has been amongst the oldest loyalists of RSS leadership as a union Minister in the then NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Ridiculing the BJP for trying to make state president Shamsher Singh Manhas a ‘scapegoat’, Prof Bhim Singh said it was the prerogative of the leader of the legislature Party in the Assembly to issue the whip and then ensure its implementation. “Manhas was not even a member of the legislature and therefore he had no authority to issue or follow implementation of the so called whip”, the NPP chief said adding that Polling agent appointed by the Leader of the legislature Party who could have checked the votes of each MLA.

The NPP chief said summoning of state BJP chief by the central leadership is just a new theory to divert the attention of the Party workers and the electorate which even the fools cannot buy. Making his point, Bhim said it is stimm fresh in memory of people that Manhas himself had lodged a complaint and sought expulsion of two MLAs in 2009 Council election when his own Party ( same legislators )did not vote for him. “They had voted for NC candidate. Consideration was unknown. The same pattern happened during Rajya Sabha polls when two BJP MLAs voted for NC candidate in 2009,” he observed.
