| BJP activists warn to resign en mass if party fails to act against 7 MLAs. | | | Earl Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: Dejected and disappointed by cross voting by 7 Party members on April 13 in favour of alliance candidates, BJP activists have warned to resign en mass in case Party fails to bring the guilty to book. The party from various mandals off Jammu region who held hectic discussions on the fall out of cross voting by its MLAs on the party have warned the state leadership that in case High Command fails to act against the defectors, they will resign from the party en mass. The sources said the activists from Jammu Rural district in a daylong meeting here have also decided to suspend all Party activities till action is taken against the erring MLAs by High Command. These activists who were set to meet Party state chief today to apprise him of the decision could not meet him as Shamsher Singh Manhas did not visit the Party Office today. Sources said the second rung of leadership in the state unit is totally perturbed as they feel humiliated by the action of Party MLAs. The former Corporators of the party who staged a demonstration on April 14 at party headquarters here and resorted to chain hunger strike have made it clear the central and state leadership that in case party fails to take action against 7 MLAs, the BJP will be rejected by the people in coming Municipal elections. Fearing Worst, Sources said these activists have decided to resign en mass and save their skin. These activists have also decided to visit union capital within a day or so to meet national leaders at Delhi and press their demand for a strong action against 7 MLAs. Meanwhile, some activists in Party have demanded a CBI probe in the issue to ascertain what induced BJP members to vote in favour of congress and NC Candidates in Legislative Council elections. Sources said that action be also taken against alliance partner if found guilty in vote for cash scam. These activists have demanded that all BJP MLAs should undergo metal detected tests to ascertain facts and bring facts to light. Sources said majority of party men are in favour of total reshuffle in the party so that young and dedicated people allowed to come forward and refurbish the image of party otherwise no one in Jammu will support and align with the Party. A party activist said during the national leaders visit to Jammu on December 24 last year who addressed a rally at Jammu, BJP Parliamentary Board Chairman L.K.Advani described Late Pt.Prem Nath Dogra among his ideals and these seven MLAs have brought a bad name to proud of Dogras and Jammu.
