Drainage work on airport road causes traffic jam in Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 18 : Drainage work on the only road leading to Srinagar International Airport in Hyderpora Square of Jammu and Kashmir is causing traffic jams. The diversion of the road has created chaos, say residents of the city. "The government has no fixed schedule for such work. This work is affecting tourists, school and college goers, as this road lead to the airport. The construction work is causing a lot of problems," said Showkat Khan. Tourism business has also been affected by the drainage work. Passengers were missing their flights, as they were unable to reach the airport on time. People want the authorities should create an alternate route for the airport before starting drainage work. However, officials claim they are trying their best to regulate the traffic with the help of the traffic police.
