JSM rejects Interlocutors’ recommendations | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 18: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has completely rejected the findings and recommendations of Interlocutors appointed by the Home Ministry, Government of India to find the solution for the Jammu Kashmir imbroglio, as appeared in the media. In a joint statement issued here today by the JSM leadership including Prof Virender Gupta, H B Khajuria and Chandra Uday Sharma, they said that the media reports and the press statements of the interlocutors suggest that their focus was Kashmir and their efforts were to appease the Kashmiri leadership and fulfil their aspirations of having a theocratic state with maximum autonomy as far as possible and also to fulfill agenda of the separatists to ultimately separate J&K state from India. It was obvious from their visits and observations that the interlocutors are trying to find the solution of J&K problem between the greater autonomy as proposed by National Conference and Self Rule of PDP. What transpired between them and Balraj Puri to whom they visited twice did not came in the media. As per the apprehensions of JSM and the people of Jammu regions the solutions proposed do not address the grievances and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions. They are also committing the mistake of considering Kashmir as whole of Jammu and Kashmir State and trying to apply the solution that they consider good for the Valley, particularly one community of Kashmiri Muslims to Jammu as well as Ladakh regions. As such the approach of the interlocutors is completely communal, parochial and against the democratic ethics and conventions. The regions of Ladakh and Jammu which constitute about 84% area of J&K state and have voters and population more than that of the Valley can not be ignored by any standards.
