| Wani expresses grief over loss of human lives | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 18:
MLA Doda and senior Congress leader Abdul Majid Wani has expressed grief over loss of human lives, yesterday night, at Bopa-Pul in district Doda.
In a tragic incident at Bopa-Pul, five members of a single family were killed on spot when a big boulder fell upon their house during mid night hours. Lutaf-ullah along-with his wife Sharifa Begum, daughter-in-law Shamshada Begum and two minor grand children Sanya Sheikh and Fatima Sheikh were killed while one minor girl was seriously injured apart from damage to their house; two mules were also killed on spot. The boulder fell down on the ill fated house due to incessant rain-fall as well as problem of loose soil in the area.
MLA Doda has asked the district administration to provide relief of Rs. one lakh (for those killed as well as injured) to the bereaved family from “Natural Calamity Relief Fund” as well as from “Red Cross Fund”. Meanwhile the district administration has announced interim relief of Rs. 5,000/- each to kins of those killed and injured.
Condition of the injured girl is reported to be stable now, who is being provided free of cost medical treatment at district Hospital Doda, on the directions of MLA Doda.
