ETT exams re-scheduled not postponed: A K Kapoor

JAMMU, April 18: United Front Association of Private Schools & ETT Institutions, J&K State conducted an emergency meeting regarding the allegations made by National Secular Forum against Minister for School Education and Secretary J&KBOSE.
A K. Kapoor, President of the Association while speaking on the occasion said that ETT Institutions are running in the state after proper screening and inspection by the concerned authorities and J&K Board of School Education.
He added that the Minister has issued the NOC for starting the ETT course to the institutions as per the norms framed for the purpose and those who fulfill such criteria gets the required NOC for starting an ETT institution.
He said that moreover after getting NOC from the Government, the Department of School Education and the teams from J&K Board of School Education conducts the inspection and points out the requisite deficiencies to provide quality education to the students.
It was also pointed that timely inspection every year was conducted by the BOSE to have a check on proper functioning of the institutions.
Kapoor said that ETT examination were re-scheduled and not postponed. He said that the ETT institutions in the entire state of Jammu & Kashmir have got the common calendar for the session and examination date-sheet and keeping in view the reason that there are more that 400 institutions those are running ETT course in the state; the date-sheet was made in advance for the smooth conduct of the examinations.
He added that one of the main reasons of re-scheduling the date-sheet of ETT examination was that the schedule of Panchayat elections was not declared prior to the issue of ETT date-sheet. Lecturers and teachers from the Government schools and department of school education were on election duty. So 5 day delay in the examination was made for the purpose.
He said that 400 examination centres were made to conduct of the examination and already the stationary for the said examination has been handed-over to the examination centre for the arrangements.
He appealed the student community to avoid such rumors and to concentrate towards their preparations for the examinations.
