Resident pundits criticize Geelani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, April 18 : Geelani’s visit to a migrant camp in South Kashmir yesterday has evoked mixed reaction. While the majority community welcomed the visit, the resident pundits are not happy. According to them Geelani always ignored them. The Kashmiri Pundit Sangarash Samithi (KPSS) chairman, Sanjay Tikoo took a dig at Geelani” “The elderly leader never visited those pundits who stayed back in the valley despite odds. He did not visit the family of a youth who went missing a month ago”, he said. Tikoo went to the extent of accusing Geelani of appeasing New Delhi and the state government by his visit to the camp. “He went to see those who came here to encash the benefits of Prime Minister’s package. They are not here by conviction”, he said. (SIC) The KPSS said Geelani was trying to play Budshah and some Shri Bhatts are helping him for a job which shall not be allowed at the cost of 2785 souls comprising 651 families. KPSS also demanded action against those who desecrated more than 500 temples in the Valley. An emotional Geelani was seen urging the pundits to return to their native land. “I assure you full protection. You are part of my body”, he said.
