JAMMU, Apr 18: The ruling coalition partners are likely to go for cabinet expansion and may be reshuffle shortly. Informed sources said Congress will stake claim for two of the three vacant berths in the cabinet.
Two berths were left vacant and the third fell vacant when GM Saroori quit the cabinet last year. A Congress leader hopes the party will get the two berths. "One will go to Doda as this area is unrepresented in the cabinet at present", he said.
According top him, the National Conference workers from Doda and Kupwara wanted representation in the cabinet. "The reshuffle may also be discussed in the coming days", he revealed.
He ruled out expansion of cabinet from 25 to 30 berths. "For that the state constitution needs to be amended", he said. |
