Protest staged against anti-people, anti-employees policy of state govt

Jammu, Apr 19: On the call of J&K State Pensioners Association and supported by Low Paid Employees Federation and public of Bhadarwah, a massive protest demonstration was staged at Bhadarwah against anti-people, anti-pensioners and anti-employees policy of state government.
Earlier employees / pensioners assembled in the premises of SDM office, Bhadarwah and raised sky rising slogans in support of their demands.
After submitting a memorandum to the SDM, a massive procession was taken out which after passing through various bazaars of the Bhadarwah town converted into a public meeting in Seri Bazaar, Bhadarwah. The rally was presided over by Bhagat Singh Manhas.
While addressing the rally Abdul Hafeez Fani , veteran Trade Union Leader and member state Committee of All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation severely criticized Governments anti-employee, anti-pensioners and anti-peoples policy and its failure to raise pay/pension and perks on the central pattern while implementing 6th pay commission.
He further said that Government has increased the salaries of legislators and ministers whereas common and toiling masses have been deprived of their basic necessities.
He demanded immediate payments of 6th pay commission arrears to the state employees and pensioners in 2 installments instead of the so called “Road Map”, which has been framed to deceive.
Fani demanded enhancement of medical allowance to Rs. 1000 per month and retirement age on the central pattern. He made strong plea for regularization and revising in the wages of teachers, clerks and Class 4th employee.
While Highlighting the local problems of Bhadarwah Mr.Fani demanded filling up of all vacant posts of doctors in Bhadarwah hospital, stream-lining of traffic system in the town besides adequate and uninterrupted supply of ration, electricity and LPG to the consumers.
It also demanded opening of separate counters for pensioners at all the branches of bank to save them from undue hardships and immediate clearance of all pending GPF cases. The speakers in one voice called for arrest of price-rise to save common man.
The prominent speakers who spoke on the occasion include Abdul Hamid Shah, Anand Pal Gupta, Mohd. Iqbal Parnali, Omkar Bhagat, Abdul Latif and Mohd. Sharief Sheikh.
