Fire Services week concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 19: J&K Fire & Emergency services concluded the Fire Week at Lawrence Public School. Rich tributes were paid to the gallant fireman who laid down their lives while performing duties. After that two minutes silence was observed to pay tributes to the gallant fireman who laid their lives for the noble cause ‘We Serve To Save’. Jamit Singh Bhau (Asst. Director Command City, Jammu) along with his team of Fire men apprised the students about the Fire Triangle which includes - smothering, cooling, starving while dousing off the fire. A demonstration was also given to the students showing them the working of different nozzles used for Fire fighting purposes. While addressing the students he said that purpose of observing this week is to make the people aware about immediate precautionary measures if fire breaks out mostly due to short circuit, bursting of gas cylinders or other electronic gadgets. He said people in such cases should cooperate with the fire fighting personnel and help control the fire from spreading further. He informed that during the year Fire Safety and evacuation drills will be carried out in 200 schools of the state for which special equipment "Fire Tutors" have been procured by the department. A mock drill in this respect was also held on the occasion. The students & staff of Lawrence Public School later interacted with the Fire personal & lauded the role of fire fighting personnel for their efforts in such situations without caring for their own lives.
