| Devasthan Prabhandak Committee, Bijbehara, reconstituted | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 19:
Devasthan Prabhandak Committee, Bijbehara has been reconstituted after the a prolonged delay.
According to a press handout, the reconstitution of Devasthan Prabandhak Committee was due in November 2010, but the same was postponed with the hope that Kashmir shrines and temples bill would be passed in the winter session of the state legislature. Since the government seems reluctant to pass the said Bill, a meeting of the displaced pandits of all the villages of Teshil Bijbehara was convened in which a large number of people participated.
The meeting was presided over by Ex-President of Martand of Purohit Sahba Ashok Kumar Sidha, who is the patron of the Committee. The proceedings of election were conducted under his supervision in a cordial manner.
The following office bearers were elected: President Prof M.L Malla, Senior Vice President Ex MLC Bhushan Lal Bhat, Vice Presidents Raj Nath Tikoo and Brij Nath Raina, Secretary Pran Nath Tikoo, Joint Secretary cum Cashier Sanjay Tikoo, Publicity Secretary Virender Mohan Bhat.
