Karnataka LC panel interacts with counterparts in J & K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 19: 8- member committee on government assurances of Karnataka Legislative Council led by its Chairman M. C. Nanaiah today interacted with their counterparts of Jammu and Kashmir here. Threadbare discussion was held on wide ranging issues concerning the legislative business and procedures in vogue in their respective states. They exchanged their views on host of issues related to their respective legislatures during the meeting that lasted for nearly two hours. The twin council panels also discussed working of different House Committees, ongoing Panchayat elections and several other socio-political issues of Jammu and Kashmir. Members of the Karnataka House panel expressed happiness over the interaction, terming it their proud privilege and fruitful. J&K assurance committee headed by Vijay Bakaya briefed the Karnataka Committee about the functioning and its role in the implementation of the government assurances in the State. He said the committee is instrumental in getting the government assurances implemented on the ground in the high traditions of parliamentary democracy. Among others, Basavaraja Horatti, G. Madhusudhan, H. C. Needravari, Prof. M. R. Doreswamy, K. V. Narayanaswamy and Dayananda from Karnataka and Jahangir Mir, Syed Rafiq Ahmad Shah and Narbo Galchain from J & K besides Secretary, Legislative Council J&K Mohammad Ashraf Mir and concerned officers of Karnataka Legislative Council attended the meeting. Later, the Committee members went round the assembly complex.
