Ex-corporators term CM’s statement on ‘horse trading’ immature | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 19: Reacting to the statement made by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah challenging the media to prove “cash for vote” during the recent election to Legislative Council, former corporators Zaffar Javed Khan, Sanjay Mahey and Balwant Kumar Ballu termed the remarks as immature. They held that the youth of state has high expectations from Omar as he represents the young generation in the state and is votary of clean and corruption free government but this statement of his belied the hopes of the youth by playing innocent while the entire gambit stands exposed before one and all. The corporators stated ,if he is really sincere to eradicate corruption from the state he should order free and fair enquiry as being at the helm of affairs one cannot expect fair conduct of probe to expose all those who are involved irrespective of their political affiliation whether from NC, Congress, PDP or BJP. It refreshes the memory and replicates all that happened in the year 2005 when elections to upper house were held and Congress candidate Shiv Dev Singh was defeated by his own people in the same manner.
