| Govt claims hollow, many rural schools without infrastructure | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 19:
While tall claims are being made by the education department about improvement in the infrastructure of schools in the state, but picture is quite different when looking at the rural areas, where educational institutions are without infrastructure. Recently, Minister for Education has also claimed to improve the infrastructures of the government schools.
He said 680 middle school buildings and 5467 additional classrooms were also constructed throughout the State equitability as far as possible to tide over accommodation problem of the students.
The state government also will provide free of cost uniforms to the students from 1st to 8th class. The students are also provided with free books in Government schools.
“At places there is no teaching staff and only two teachers are posted in the school. There is total lack of coordination between education authorities”, said an official. It is pertinent to mention here that the various areas appointed headmasters, subject teachers and teachers will be appointed under RMSA. But the presently condition of on rural area schools not have proper infrastructure, teachers, as well as desk for the students.
Sources said that the in the rural areas various schools without sitting desk, water, bathroom and other facilities. He also said that the some schools not have a compound wall, libraries and other things. “It exposes the government claims because they mostly concentrate their efforts in the urban areas and towns”, said a official source.
He further said that the student also sitting on the grounds and teachers’ not getting proper teaching, they completely careless towards the students. Parents said that government claimed that they are providing free uniforms and books to the students’ upto middle school, but what about the basic facilities of desk besides other required things. They further said that some of the buildings of school are in worst condition and our children studying under life thread.
Interestingly, the Minister and education department huge claimed to the department providing better facilities to the students but the ground level is opposite picture.
