| Fake gun licence scam: SDM's agent held | | |
JAMMU, Apr 19: In the fake gun licence scam, an agent of Mendhar SDM Mukhtiar Choudhary was today arrested by police from Rajouri.Mukhtiar was alleged to be the main accused in the scam as he used to issue fake gun licences in lieu of money to the people. He was arrested from his relative's house here few days back.
Acting on his disclosure, police today raided a house in Rajouri and arrested his agent Ranjit Singh alias Bittoo, police sources said.Bittoo was brought here by police and put to sustained interrogation.
He was alleged to have told police that he was in direct contact with Mukhtiar when the latter was SDM, Mendhar, and used to get fake licences prepared from him. For the purpose, the SDM allegedly
charged huge amounts of money from him, the sources added.
