| Police Inspector among 2 booked for firing after panchayat poll results | | |
JAMMU, Apr 18: Two persons, including a police Inspector, were booked for allegedly opening fire after panchayat poll results were declared at Palesara near Arnia here yesterday.
Police sources said Gurnam Singh, an inspector posted in crime record bureau, was booked today for allegedly firing bullet shots from his official weapon at Palesara.
He fired out of excitement after their candidate was declared a winner when the results were declared last evening, the sources added. Police also booked one Jagtar Singh for opening fire in the same
village with his 12 bore rifle.
