| Top seed Nitin among 8 enter QFS of Jr Snooker | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 20: Top seed, Nitin Sharma among eight cueists today made it to the quarterfinals of the junior snooker event of the Jammu District Open Billiards and Snooker Champion underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium here.
Playing directly in the third round of pre-quarterfinals along with second seed, Burhan Khan, Nitin had easy sailing over Rohit Sodhi beating latter in easy straight frames 54-13, 67-32. However, Burhan underwent some difficult moments before making it a 2-1 (21-66, 71-49, 62-26) win over Gautam Jamwal.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the quarterfinals shall be played tomorrow. In addition, draws for senior snooker shall also take place tomorrow at 3 pm, followed by the matches a day latter from April 23.
The Detailed Results: Pre-quarterfinals: Nitin Sharma bt Rohit Sodhi 2-0 (54-13, 67-32); Abhishek Goswami bt Rishabh Bakshi 2-0 (69-57, 58-26); Aditya Sharma bt Rahil Mahajan 2-1 (55-45, 38-39, 66-20); Sachin Bamba bt Jaswinder Singh 2-0 (49-45, 51-34). Saurabh bt Bhanu Gupta, 2-0 (69-49, 67-30); Pankaj Sharma bt Karan Verma 2-1 (71-36, 50-57, 87-57); Burhan Khan bt Gautam Jamwal 2-1 (21-66, 71-49, 62-26); Gagandeep Singh got walkover from Rohit Jamwal.
