Aggarwal Club enters final of Rajiv Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 20: The star-studded side of Aggarwal Cricket Club (ACC) today confirmed their berth in the final after they defeated Bhagwati Cricket Club (BCC) by seven wickets in the ongoing Rajiv Gandhi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Young Star Cricket Club at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, Bhagwati Club set a paltry total of 98 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Nishant Singh Chib was highest scorer with 22 runs while Vishal Gupta and Amit Sharma added 15 and nine runs respectively. Vishwajeet Singh was most successful bowler from Aggarwal Club with three wickets, followed by Manik Gupta, who took two. Rahil Singh, Akash Bhalwal and Sahil Bhalwal shared apiece each. In reply, playing with three first class cricketers, Vimarsh Kaw, Aditya Partap Singh and Manik Gupta, Aggarwal Club chased the target rather easily in 13.2 overs for the loss of three wickets. While Aditya Pratap Singh made unbeaten 31 runs with the help of five hits to the fence, Vimarsh Kaw contributed power-packed 22-ball 25 runs including four boundaries and a six. From Bhagwati Club, Rajesh Saini and Vishal claimed one wicket each. Aditya Pratap Singh was adjudged man of the match for his unbeaten knock.
Rohit helps NCC reach semis
Earlier, in a quarterfinal match of the day, National Cricket Club registered 18 runs win over Challenger Cricket Club. It was Rohit’s brilliant knock of 60 runs that helped NCC reach the semi-finals. Batting first, NCC made 150 runs in given 20 overs. Rohit Bhat played superb innings of 47-ball 60 runs. Deepak Singh Manhas, Manish Dogra and Sagar Gupta contributed 19, 17 and 15 runs respectively. Parveen Singh claimed three wickets while Guru Pratap bagged two and Sourav one from Challenger Club.
In reply, Challenger could make only 132 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. Parveen Singh was the top scorer with 33 runs made with the help of four boundaries and a six. Shahzad Ali contributed 18 runs. Deepak Singh Manhas and Vijay Singh bagged two wickets each from NCC. For his brilliant knock of 60 runs, Rohit Bhat was adjudged man of the match.
