| Amarnath Yatra Niyas appeals Governor to reconsider yatra curtailment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, apr 20: Baba Amarnath and Baba Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas took out a procession to Governor House, today in protest against curtailment in annual Holy Amarnath Yatra-2011 and to submit collected signature of Jammuites.
The members of the Niyas assembled here today at Mubarak Mandi where from they took out procession towards Governor House.
The members and the representatives of Niyas and its associate member organizations said that they took out procession to submit the collected signatures to Governor and Chairman SASB N N Vohra with an appeal to reconsider the decision of curtailing yatra.
“It’s genuinely felt that the decision of SASB is unjustified, by which they have announced the commencement date of Shri Amarnath Yatra from 29th June and reduced the duration of this yatra to 45 days”, they mentioned, adding, Niyas had earlier mobilized the public opinion and organized signature campaign from April 12-18 and which got reasonable response
