JMC continues drive against adulteration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 20: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today continued its drive against adulteration of milk in several areas of the city. A team of JMC filed staff led by Municipal Veterinary Officer carried out the anti-milk adulteration drive in the areas of Gummat, Bahu Fort, Narwal, Qasim Nagar and Greater Kaliash. During the drive 85 Milk cans were checked, out of which 2 milk cans which were of sub-standard quality and not fit for human consumption destroyed on spot. Further continuing the drive against the Stray animals, the team had also lifted 29 stray animals from the areas of Ambphalla, Panjtirthi, Circular Road, Jewel, Bakshi Nagar, Janipur, Muthi, Bohri, Talab Tillo, Gummat, Bahu Fort, Narwal, Railway Road, Kunjwani, Gandhi Nagar and Nanak Nagar. The JMC team impounded the stray animals in Municipal Cattle Pound. A total amount of Rs 5125 was charged as fine from the erring milk vendors and owners of stray animals. The drive was conducted under the instructions from Commissioner JMC SC Sawhney.
