| HC directs former Com/ Secy Education to appear in person in a contempt case | | |

Justice Nirmal Singh of J&K High Court Jammu wing in a contempt petition took serious note for not filing statement of facts after obtaining opportunity and said that statement of facts has not been filed despite the fact that notice was issued on November 28, 2005 and thereafter number opportunities have been given. Even on the last date of hearing on October 6, 2006 four weeks last opportunity was granted but again the statement of facts has not been filed.
This observation has been passed in a contempt filed by Kiran Kumar Khajuria through Advocate Arshad Majid Ahmed and directed the contemnor Manzoor Bhat, the then Commissioner/Secretary to Government Education Department to appear in person before the Court on next date of hearing. Upon this Deputy AG Mrs. Neeru Goswami undertook to produce the contemnor Manzoor Bhat the then Commissioner/Secretary to Government Education Department on the date of hearing. Upon this the Court directed Registry to list the case for November 24, 2006 for filing compliance report or appear in person
