Lok Adalat to settle MACT cases in Srinagar

JAMMU, Apr 20: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Legal Services Committee is organizing a Lok Adalat for settlement of MACT cases pending in the High Court wing at Srinagar on 30th of April, 2011 at 10.30 am.
Any party interested in the settlement of his MACT claim sub-judice in the High Court Wing Srinagar, through compromise in the Lok Adalat is requested to contact Registrar Judicial High Court wing Srinagar with an application and for any legal assistance, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee.
J&K High Court Legal Services Committee is also organizing a Lok Adalat in the High Court at Jammu wing in near future. In this regard, Pre-Lok Adalat session for settlement of MACT cases was held on 19th of April 2011 in the High Court complex at Jammu in which Justice Virender Singh Judge High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority, Registrar Judicial High Court win g Jammu, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu, Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee Jammu and Kashmir and Presiding Officer MACT Jammu participated.
Pre- Lok Adalat session was held with the counsels of the victims and representatives of Oriental Insurance Company. Nine MACT cases involving award amount of Rs. 25.00 lakh were identified for settlement in the ensuring Lok Adalat. The pre- Lok Adalat session will continue on 20th and 21st of April 2011 and is likely to be extended further so that consensus of the parties is evolved for final settlement in the Lok Adalat.
Any party interested in the settlement of his MACT claims sub-judice in the High Court wing at Jammu are requested to contact Registrar Judicial High Court wing Jammu for settlement of his claim through Lok Adalat.
