| Tarigami hails resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue process | | | JAMMU NOV-16 Hailing the resumption of dialogue process between India and Pakistan after a delay of four months in the wake of unfortunate terror strikes in Mumbai and other places, the Jammu and Kashmir State Secretary CPI (M) Mohammed Yusuf Tarigami has expressed satisfaction that both the countries have embarked upon a course of peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues for ensuing peace and reconciliation in the region. Addressing media persons here today, Tarigami described the joint statement issued by the two countries after a meeting of foreign secretaries as positive and full of hope . He said the peace process initiated by the two counties and a number of confidence building measures undertaken has generated fresh hopes and demanded that these measures must benefit the cross section of ordinary people across LoC and not remain confined to mere kith and kin. Explaining that though confidence building measures are not an end in themselves but certainly a contributing factor towards resolution process, he said and wanted the Kashmiri civilian institutions, including educational bodies, a cultural groups, pilgrims, traders and media to be encouraged and facilitated across LoC. Emphasizing on more and more cooperation between the two countries to end terrorism and violence, the CPM leader described the joint anti-terror mechanism initiated by the two countries as a good beginning in this direction. Maintaining that there was no ready- made formula for the solution of Kashmir, he said the desire to live together was universal indeed adding that the mutual differences could be narrowed down by debate and discussion and there was every reason to believe in the ultimate wisdom of great people of the State who wanted peace with dignity. Urging both the governments to solve forthwith the less intractable issues like Sir Creek, Siachen and Baghliar, Targami said that both the countries should arrive at an agreed mechanism for correction of gross distortion of history, culture of the people of one country by the other and review of laws, rules, practices and regulations based on hostilities between the two countries.
