CO 24 Rajput had flagged off the group on November 6 from Mahogla amidst great jubilation and fanfare. The highlight of the tour was visit to University of Chandigarh and interaction with the local students there. Speaking on her return from the memorable tour one of the girls said ‘I feel indeed most fortunate to have gone on this tour and may God bless the Army, who arranged this wonderful tour’. The visiting girls also paid a visit to Dalai Lama palace. Aptly named ‘Jagriti Yatra’, the tour lived up to the expectations as it brought about a great deal of awareness amongst the children about the cultural, regional and religious diversity apart from unique harmony that binds this great nation into one thread. Speaking at the flagging in ceremony, CO praised the efforts put in by the troops and urged them to continue with the humane service notwithstanding disruptive activities of the anti national elements.
