Government non-serious in implementing tourism related projects: AJHLA | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 21: All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association flay ed non seriousness and careless approach adopted by the state government in taking up and implementing tourism related projects in Jammu region. Referring to the disclosure by the minister for Tourism and Culture, Rig Jin Jora at a meeting of the board of directors of state Cable Car Corporation held that in respect of the proposal of ropeway from Mubarak Mandi to Mahamaya and Bahu Fort – all technical codal and land acquiring formalities of the same are still to be completed, president of All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association, Inderjeet Khajuria observed that it is now for about two decades that talks about laying of ropeway between Mubarak Mandi , Bahu Fort and Mahamaya are being made loudly by the state government authorities. “To learn that technical codal and land acquisition formalities of the said project are still to be completed is highly disappointing. It indicates the exercise of hoodwinking the people by the government,” says Khajuria. In a meeting of the association Inderjeet Khajuria said, “While many chair car and ropeway projects in the Kashmir valley are either already commissioned or are going to be completed shortly, as disclosed by the minister in the meeting, the ropeway project of Mubarak Mandi-Bahu Fort-Mahamaya is still on the papers. No concrete step has been taken to execute the project”. “As reported by the tourism minister in the meeting, all hopes of coming up of this project in Jammu soon stand belied”, he adds. The meeting urged upon the government to take up the government to take up this ropeway project with all the enforcement for time bound completion as step towards tourism promotion in Jammu.
