15 more employees suspended for poll duty refusal

SRINAGAR, April 21:
Fifteen more employees of various departments have been suspended by the state government following their refusal to perform Panchayat poll duties in Kulgam district.
With the announcement of fresh suspensions, so far more than 70 employees have been suspended in Ganderbal, Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
All the employees placed under suspension were found absent from election duty and violating election process during the first three phases of Panchayat polls.
District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Kulgam, Farooq Ahmad Khan suspended fifteen government employees belonging to various departments for their absence on election duty, official sources said.
The state government suspended twenty two government employees in Anantnag, ten in Kulgam and twenty four in Ganderbal districts on similar charges since first phase held on April 13.
One block in Kulgam district, along with nine others in the state, also went to polls today.
