Ensure all facilities to darbar move employees: Gul to Estates Dept

JAMMU, April 21:
Elaborate accommodation, transportation and other necessary arrangements have been made by the Government for darbar move employees at summer capital which would close on April 29 at winter capital and re-open at Srinagar on May 9.
This information was given to Advisor to Chief Minister Mubarak Gul here today who convened a meeting of high level officers to finalize all the move arrangements being arranged by Estates and other concerned Departments.
The Director Estates apprised the Advisor that the Department has hired 111 hotels for accommodating non-gazetted move employees, besides 190 rooms occupied for gazetted officials in the hotels run by JKTDC. He said necessary repairs and renovation of government quarters at Chanapora, Tulsibagh, Bemina besides other vicinities of the city would be taken up soon.
The Director Estates said that renovations of Civil Secretariat have been completed and execution of additional block in the back side of main secretariat complex has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 28.75 crore.
The construction work of the building is apace and so far Rs 2 crore expended on it, he said and added that the complex would be completed within stipulated time frame.
He said the Department has collected revenue of Rs 1.43 crore as rent from the occupants of its property so far this year.
Speaking on the occasion the Advisor stressed for providing suitable accommodation facilities to all the move employees with all basic facilities. He instructed for taking due care on providing quality catering facilities to the employees accommodating in hotels, adding to see sanitation, food and other facilities providing to the employees in the hotels should be frequently checked by the team of officers.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B B Vyas, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Zaffar Ahmad, Director Estates Khursheed Ahmad, Deputy Director Estates (Central) and other senior officers attended the meeting.
