Bhalla lays foundation stone of additional rooms

JAMMU, NOV 16
MLA Gandhi Nagar, Mr Raman Bhalla laid foundation stone of two additional rooms in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Sunjawan near here today. The work on this project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh.
Mr Bhalla said that it was an old demand of the people of area and announced constructing of fencing wall of school building. He said that schools are temples of learning and asked the student community to take keen interest in the study so that they become responsible citizens of tomorrow. He directed the teaching staff to impart quality education to students so that they can compete in the examinations national and international level. He said that funds to the tune of Rs.60 lakh have recently been released for construction of roads from Narwalla to Dungian, Saif Ali area to Bhatindi, toilet and water tank at Gujjar colony besides lanes and drains and boundary wall at Mustafa colony.
He said that during the last four years tremendous progress has been registered in almost all sectors. Medicare and educational facilities also have been made available at the doorsteps of the people. He said that parks and gardens have been renovated with the planting of species plants to have a aesthetic look of the area. He said that road have been blacktopped in most of the areas. He said that headlights have also been installed at main crossings and green covers have been extended on the roadsides.
He said that under PHE sector work on 25 tube-wells and overhead tanks would commence.
Earlier a large number of deputations and individuals met Mr Bhalla and projected their demands like supplying of adequate drinking water and electricity besides covering of open Nallahs and construction of lanes and drains.He said that government is fully aware of their difficulties and the appropriate steps would be taken to solve them expeditiously.
