| Customs, excise inspectors stage dharna | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, April 21:Customs & Central Excise Superintendents and Inspectors of Jammu & Kashmir Commissionerate staged a Dharna on 20.04.2011 (during lunch hour) and wore black badges to highlight the acute stagnation in the cadre and also as a mark of protest against the discriminatory policies of the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) and complete apathy towards their genuine demand of getting promotions at par with Examiners/Customs Appraisers of the Department and also at par with ITO’s & Inspectors of the Income Tax department, as at present, the majority of the direct Inspectors of Customs & Central Excise are retiring as Superintendents after getting only one promotion in their entire Service career.
