State marching fast towards peace, prosperity: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 21: Reiterating Government’s determination for providing better basic amenities to the people of the State, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said the Government has taken several innovative measures to improve the living standard of the people especially those inhabiting far-off, hilly and backward areas. The Minister was interacting with the people during his inspection to various works under execution in Gangyal area. He said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner. Bhalla inspected pace of progress of drainage works being executed at Model Town Sector-2 and Sector-6, Harijan basti in New Deshmash Nagar in Gangyal. The 1800 meter length of drains is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 19 lakh would be completed by June this year. The Minister stressed on the concerned engineers and officers to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works in the area for completion before starting of rainy season. He directed them to ensure use of quality material in execution of the works, adding that the objective of the Government is to build concrete basic infrastructure across the State for providing better facilities to the people. Bhalla said peace is pre-requisite for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country. He said people’s cooperation is must for the Government to make the State a prosperous one. He called upon the people not to heed on nefarious designs whoever wants to use innocent for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State. He asked them to give their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the State.
