3 days seminar on Iqbal day takes off at KU | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 21: In connection with the 73rd death anniversary of Alama Iqbal, a grand 3 day seminar was organised by Iqbal Insititute of Kashmir University here today. A galaxy of Scholars, Writers and Poets besides students and professors attended the seminar. Professor Abdul Haq presided over the function while Dr. Asgar Samoon, Prof. Syed Fayaz Ahmad and Dr. Syed Mohammad Fazullah were chief guests. In his inaugural address Prof. Bashir Ahmad Nahvi said that about 5000 books have been published on the life and works of Alama Iqbal and are available in various Universities of the world besides 70 books on Iqbaliyat have neen published through Iqbal Institute. Professor Nahvi said that the institute has under taken more research work on Alama Iqbal. He said one more building at a cost of Rs 1.10 Cr has been completed and expressed his gratitude to the administration for this purpose. A cash award of Rs. 10,000 was given to a poet and writer, Sultanul Haq Shaheedi for his book “Lale Toor”. MLC, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Ex Vice-Chancellor, Kashmir University, Dr. Hamidi Kashmiri, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Meraj Ahmad Kakroo, DDC, Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Scholars, Ulemas, Journalists, Social Workers, Prominent Citizens, Faculty members of Kashmir University, students among others were also present in the seminar.
