Additional funds for developmental projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 21:- New Delhi intends to earmark funds for various developmental projects in Jammu Kashmir instead of accepting Chief Minister’s request of raising the plan allocation to Rs 70000 crore. The Chief Minister, official sources said had sought additional funds to `silence forces who destabilize peace in the state’. Sources said the Prime Minister has accepted Omar Abdullah’s request and additional funds have been earmarked for developmental projects. Reports said that the Prime Minister has accepted Omar's demand for release of additional funds for stepping up development activities after he had felt glad over the improvement in the security situation and in increased peoples' participation in the ongoing Panchayat elections. |
