After MLAs High Command’s axe may fall on BJP’s state leadership | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 21: After the suspension of seven MLAs from the Party for participating in cross voting in April 13 elections of Legislative Council, the BJP High Command is contemplating action against the Party leadership in the state whom it also thinks responsible for groupism in the Party. According to Party sources in Union Capital the state leadership has also to face the disciplinary action for its failure in checking the growing groupism in the party and informing the High Command of the same in advance. The Party will not remain a mute spectator to the dismal performance of its state leadership against whom it too has sought action for its failure to maintain the discipline in the Party and maintain a rapport with the Party MLas and activists, sources added. Sources said the action against the state leadership will follow as Party High Command has not absolved it of the responsibilities. One of the national leaders of the party who has also been incharge of J&K affairs for a couple of years has sought action against state Party president for his abysmal performance and failure to keep the flock together, sources added. Sources said that the state chief who was also questioned by the Party High Command in one to one meeting has been accused of not consulting it while nominating Ranjit Singh as the Party candidate for Legislative Council elections. Though BJP state president tried to convince BJP national president, Nitin Gadkari and other senior leaders that the name of Mr Singh was cleared in the meeting State Core Group which was also attended by all MLAs of the Party, it failed to make any point. Sources said Party High Command which has constituted a Committee headed by its national general secretary to ascertain facts that led to cross voting after listening the suspended MLAs will later take the issue of the state leadership also. It will not hesitate in taking a drastic action and replacing the some leaders who are on top posts. Sources said that disciplinary action against the partymen indulging in anti party activities has become the need of the hour as it has led to demoralizing the party activists. Meanwhile some senior leaders who are camping in Delhi have also demanded revamping of state unit completely. These leaders have also taken up the issue with senior functionaries of RSS seeking their involvement in the matter. Pleading their point strongly these leaders have informed High Command that besides the suspension of erring MLAs revamping of state unit was mandatory to strengthen the base of Party in Jammu region. It may be recalled that during the recent visit of the BJP Parliamentary team headed by former national president of the Party Raj Nath Singh they were also informed by various delegations of the people about the abysmal performance of Party MLAs and growing indiscipline in it.
