| TA jawan, SPO among 3 held for possessing illegal pistols | | | JAMMU, Apr 22: Three persons, including a jawan of territorial army and a SPO, were today apprehended by police at Mendhar bus stand in Poonch for illegally possessing two Pak-made pistols. They had come to the bus stand to sell the pistols and their magazines to someone. Police suspected that they had militant links. They were identified as TA 156 Bn jawan Liaqat Hussain, son of
Mohammad Qasim of Langiote, Balakote, SPO Parvaiz Ahmed, son of Lal Hussain of Gursai, and Mahroof Ahmad, son of Mohammad Sharief. The SPO was at present posted with special operation group (SOG) of police at Mendhar.
Police sources said they were taken into custody along with the pistols on a tip off by a SOG team headed by DSP Javed Iqbal. A case under section 3/25/27 of Arms Act and 120-B and 122 of RPC
was registered against them.
