BJP High Command takes serious note of anti party activities by suspended MLAs
4/23/2011 12:11:16 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 22: BJP Central leadership has taken serious exception to the anti party activities of Party MLAs suspended by High Command for cross voting in Legislative Council elections of April 13.
Soon after coming to know that five out of seven suspended Party MLAs had met Speaker Legislative Assembly here yesterday to intimate him that all 11 MLAs had resigned on moral grounds owing responsibility of cross voting but the decision of High Command to suspend them was unfortunate and the Speaker should not entertain the same in the event the High Command forwards it to him.
The Party also has expressed its displeasure against the two MLAs for addressing a press conference at Jammu on Friday and ridiculing the decision of High Command, sources close to Party said. The MLAs were suspended from the Party and they were served the show cause notice to explain their position and instead of doing the same they indulged in anti Party activities, sources added.
Sources said the high command has made it clear to state leadership also that no indiscipline will be tolerated in the Party and the MLAs who have brought a bad name to JP with their conduct and behavior will be shown the door. For BJP MLAs not but the principles are more important, sources added.
Sources said the Party High Command is also under severe pressure from RSS the parental organization of BJP to act tough against the party leaders involved in any kind of indiscipline and malpractices so that the BJP does not lose its image as a Party with difference. For maintaining this image the sacrifice of some MLAs is of no relevance for the Party, sources added.
Sources said the BJP High Command took the decision to give a lesson to other leadership indulging in groupism and horse trading for their vested interests. Party will reign in all such elements so that the people can themselves judge the difference between BJP and other political parties.
Meanwhile RSS has also asked BJP to take care in future while giving mandate to candidates in Parliament and Assembly elections elections. The RSS according to sources has said that utmost care be taken to select the party cadre as the probable candidates on the basis of their loyalty instead of bringing those who had joined the party by resigning from other organizations as such leaders after getting elected to legislatures indulge in horse trading and defame the image of party.
Meanwhile state office bearers of Party and its four MLAS met here this evening to decide the future strategy. The meeting has gained more importance in view of the demand made within a section of BJP regarding CBI probe into cross voting.
The Party is also in a fix after a fresh controversy gripped it that the independent MLA from Kathua had also cast his vote in favour of BJP candidate Th Ranjit Singh. In case this will be proved then from the remaining three one more MLA of BJP is involved in cross voting and this can put a question mark on the decision of High Command which suspended seven MLAs recently.
